with Betty Martin
4:00pm-6pm

Consent is an art that is way more fun than you think, and is the key to relational and erotic freedom. The more clear you are, the more fun you have. We will play with the universe of ways to communicate desires and limits. We’ll find the fun in it, dissipate the fear of it, and explore opportunities to dip into some soul-satisfying consensual touch. Consent is more than permission, and includes intention, roles, limits and desires. The practice can reveal to you your desires and edges. In this session we will play with lots of way to communicate desires and limits. And we’ll have opportunities to dip into some soul-satisfying consensual touch.

Dr. Betty Martin, a Chiropractor, is also a Body Electric School trained Sacred Intimate, Certified Sexological Bodyworker, Foundations of Facilitation trainer, and a self-propelled erotic adventurer and intimacy coach in Seattle, WA. More info: www.eroticeducation.org

with Teri D. Ciacchi
8:00-10pm

How do we move beyond the current models given to us by modern Western dominant culture? Given the current traditions of “war between the sexes”, “Survival of the fittest” and “looking good” how are we to find and grow into the ecstasy of new ways of being? We’ll investigate how polyamory, authenticity, non-duality, and transparency translate into a sustainable communitarian ethic and what group sacred sexual events like Aphrodite Temples have to do with all of this.

Where did you learn about love, intimacy and sexuality? What we often don’t realize is that our very ideas about these topics may prevent us from fully expressing and receiving love. This presentation from the HAI training will provide experiential opportunities to examine these crucial areas in our lives. Come and join us for a deep dive into intimacy which can powerfully affect your time at Summer Camp.

Sharon Byrd will lead us through a delightful series of heart-warming exercises from the Human Awareness Institute. What does it feel like to fall in love with 50 people in the same day? Join us to find out.

Aphrodite, ancient and modern Goddess of Love is calling you! The Priestesses of Aphrodite will lead us through an evening of relatedness that honors each of us as Divine. with Paul and Anna
4:00-6:00

This workshop offers attendees a vision of what is possible in community, which is more varied and rich than many imagine. Anna and Paul will discuss what gets in the way of real and workable community and what we can do – and who we can become – to create the sorts of connections that sustainable community both enables and requires.

Paul has 10 years of experience with peer-counseling and teaches sex-offenders skills to make positive changes in their lives. Anna grew up in Germany, and lived in Tamera, a peace research community in Portugal. In 2009 she moved to the U.S. to be with Paul and further her vision of global community.

Photo of Kristin Rawson Compassionate Attention with Kristin Rawson
10:30-1:00pm

In this workshop we will explore what it feels like to give and receive compassionate healing attention. Through both lecture and exercises, we will explore new ways to understand and communicate our needs and the needs of those around us.

Kristen Rawson is a counselor and activist working for change in the sex-positive and queer communities, particularly the transgendered community.

Forum Each Morning

There will be a ZEGG-style forum every day for sharing what is coming up for each of us in the community. The Forum is a group process developed at the German community ZEGG to provide a stage for whatever is happening inside the person: one’s true motivations, deep feelings, ideas and emotions. The Forum helps facilitate transparency, sharing and clarifying unsolved situations of daily life, and it can be a catalyst for one’s own personal growth. Because we believe that each of our personal issues are exemplars of a general human issue, Forum elevates these personal issues by putting them into a common human stage. More information about the Forum here.

Dharma Angels:

Everyone is asked to contribute work to help camp run smoothly. This can include cooking or cleaning in the kitchen, tidying shared spaces, etc. Dharma Angel Service is a perfect opportunity to bond more deeply with each other as we share in the joy of co-creating community and making camp happen. There will be a sign-up sheet when you arrive.

All Participation is Voluntary:

Along with being a wonderful escape the Fall Retreat can be an intense personal and interpersonal experience, offering opportunities to face our own inner inconsistencies and insecurities and to encounter and respond to those of others. Such challenges can be uncomfortable, and may not always be to your liking. Please remember that you are always at choice as to whether to participate in any experience or to opt out.

Emotional Support:

The Compassion Cadre are camper volunteers skilled in one or more of the following areas: empathy / peer counseling, mediation, group process facilitation, and bodywork. Two of the Cadre will be available each day to provide emotional and physical support to anyone who asks, at any time.
